Franky the Genius (Franklin Maxwell Gaskin Jr.) Master Guitarist-Multilingual Poet-Composer & Author. As a guitarist Franky is a virtuoso who plays the BASS, CHORDS, AND MELODY ALL AT THE SAME TIME! His mastery is so comanding and flawless that the listener is unaware that there is NO BASS PLAYER ON THE CDs and in addition IT'S ALL LIVE! NO STUDIO TRICKS, NO GIMMICKS. What it's all about is an expert guitarist the likes of whom you have never seen before, and will still have trouble comprehending the depth of what Franky does. On top of that, Franky composes in 7 languages, in a tasteful mix of of styles: JAZZ, FUNK, SOUL, BOSSA NOVA, SAMBA, AND WORLD BEAT.In fact he calls his style WORLD JAZZ. And that is exactly what it is! Only with Franky the Genius, do you get the amazing mix of the Jazz/ Soul/Samba thing with poetry in English, French, Portuguese, Spanish, Hebrew, Arabic, and Wolof. Where else could you conceivably find a funk/samba in Hebrew, or a jazz/funk in Arabic and French. The multicultural background of this amazing artist sets the stage for this point of view in which all kinds of influences are at the forefront. Franky comes from a heritage of Black-Latino/ Cherokee cultural mix, and it all comes out to be seen in all of it's beauty.
